FIXED ASSET MANAGEMENT

Fixed Asset management has not been totaly implemented in both corporate or goverment sectors. This minght has been caused by the minimum information availabe about the importance of integrated asset management. There are still a lot of company that has not realized the impact of fixed asset management.

The reality, there were a lot of issues that started with ineffective asset management that leads to wasted resources. Example,  an asset which are not clearly identified are unable to perform at it's full potential, because we could not determine whether the asset still can be maintained or should it be replaced?  The decision about those issues can be solved if we have the right information/data about those assets.

Manajemen aktiva tetap atau fixed asset memang belum banyak di implementasikan secara total, baik ditingkat korporat maupun sektor pemerintahan. Hal ini mungkin disebabkan karena minimnya informasi mengenaipentingnya pengelolaan aset secara terintegrasi. Banyak perusahaan masih menganggap Fixed Asset Management hanyalah sekedar instrumen pengelolaan daftar aset.

Realitas di lapangan menunjukan banyak kasus yang sebenarnya dimulai dari salah pengelolaan masalah aset, sehingga berdampak kerugian yang tidak sedikit. Sebagai contoh optimalisasi aset sebagai sarana bisnis tidak bisa dilakukan secara maksimal karena tidak teridentifikasi dengan jelas, sehingga sulit untuk mengetahui apakah suatu aset sudah saatnya untuk diganti atau masih layak untuk di maintain. Keputusan akan pilihan-pilihan tersebut dapat terjawab dengan bila kita memiliki informasi/data yang jelas tentang aset tersebut.

The purpose of asset management in general is related to decision making, so the asset could make them work effectively and efficiently. Specifically, the objectives of asset management are:

1. Minimize the whole life cost of assets
2. Maximize Profits
3. Optimizing the utilization of assets

Tujuan manajemen aset pada umumnya adalah untuk pengambilan keputusan yang tepat agar aset yang dikelola berfungsi secara efektif dan efisien. Secara spesifik, tujuan dari manajemen aset adalah:

1. Meminimalisir biaya selama umur aset bersangkutan 
2. Memaksimalkan profit/laba
3. mengoptimalkan penggunaan serta pemanfaatan aset
